Clean stoves for 45 families
45 families from Ojo de Augua and Orégano are waiting for a clean stove that would improve their health and save wood. 84 families in 7 communities are hoping to plant a total of 336 fruit trees that would improve their nutrition. Please help us expand these successful initiatives!

Kids program at the
Blütenfest in Biburg
A big thank you goes to our volunteers, who organized various activities for the kids (giant soap bubbles, throwing games and painting flower pots, to name only a few), offered face painting and supervised the bouncy castle at the Blütenfest in Biburg.

Metal lockers and workbooks
for life skills workshops
Your donations funded a metal locker for each learning center, so that books and note books are protected from the elements. We were also able to support the print of a workbook that LEG created especially for their life skills workshops, which cover topics like conflict resolution or family planning.

School books and work sheets for the learning centers
La Esperanza runs four learning centers in the poorest quarters of Granada. This video shows the impact these centers are having on kids’ chances to get a better education and have a better future. We want to help out the learning centers with school books and work sheets in Spanish and Math to help them support the kids even better.

Support for La Esperanza’s learning centers
Thanks to your generosity, we are able to contribute to covering operation costs of the learning centers with a two thousand Euro donation. La Esperanza runs four learning centers in the barrios of Granada, where elementary school kids are offered classes in Math, Spanish, Arts, reading, computer, English and Life Skills: A great afternoon program which provides much needed opportunities to kids who do not have a lot of academic support in class or at home.

Clínica Verde has to shut down!
Very sad news has reached us from our partner organization Clínica Verde, which ran a clinic in the rural area of Boaco on the north of Nicaragua and offered free medical care to the extremely impoverished population there: The Nicaraguan government has closed the clinic at the end of March and seized their building (for more background info, click on “learn more” to read CV’s email to us).

Microcredits for school supplies for high school students
The money raised at the charity run at Gymnasium Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn was transferred to Nicaragua at the beginning of the year, so that at the beginning of the Nicaraguan school year a total of 329 kids and youths (up from 80 according to the initial plan) could be provided with a school supply package.

Proceeds of the charity run at HöSi
The charity run at the Gymnasium Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn was a resounding success! Thanks to the amazing effort of the school family, 230 young people in 15 rural Nicaraguan communities (as opposed to 80 students in 6 communities according to the original plan) can go to school thanks to a microcredit for school supplies. ¡Muchísimas gracias!

Expanding a successful program: Microcredits for school supplies

An advent bazar for
Marisol and Andrés
